4 Words for 2014

In January, I remember lifting my head wearily & thinking my goal was just to get through a really difficult season of my life with a smidge of grace and dignity. Fast forward to now & I feel like I got a new lease on life after attending the Donald Miller Storyline Conference, joining my Living CrossWise group and daring to dream about how my life would look if I wasn't afraid to fail. So, my 4 words for 2014 (because I couldn't pick just one!) are: community, intentionality, savoring & celebration. I get excited just thinking about what God can do through me this year as I make these themes my goal & use my gifts! #readytolivelifetothefullest#Heisplottingformyjoy

I feel like I'm already pretty good at the savoring and celebrating words, but I want to continue in that. I want to grow in being more intentional and investing in community.

I tend to have lots of ideas, spread myself too thin and then burn out without really accomplishing much. Or I overcommit socially and do a lot of good things, but without being intentional about the selection process, so it ends up not feeling as meaningful.

One of my Bible study friends said she needed to make her social world smaller in order to invest the way she wanted to in her core group of friends and family. I want to do that. I'd rather have a smaller circle of people I feel truly present and invested in, than a hundred acquaintances I do random coffee dates with here and there.

Now, to practice saying "No" to good things, so I can say "Yes" to the best things... :)
