One of my dearest friends (one from the tightly-knit group that make up my 7 closest friends from college) is getting married this summer & we just celebrated her first bridal shower with a classy Little Black Dress Night / Fondue party.
The BEST and most meaningful part of the entire evening was when all of us prayed together - for the bride and groom, that their day would bring God glory, be a powerful testimony of God's faithfulness, reflect Christ to the unsaved guests attending, and inspire the Christian attendees.
As our prayers came to a close, Jamie spontaneously did something unconventional at the end of our prayer time that floored me with admiration and left me sobbing. She proceeded to pray for each of us specifically - for the challenges and joys that we have in our lives, for God's blessings on us and thanking us for the unique role we have played in her journey. I was so overwhelmed at her thoughtfulness - I've never seen any bride do that at any shower I've been to! Everyone was so blessed by it.
